Historically, food plays a highly significant symbolic role in understanding the comprehensive development of individuals from an early age. It’s not just about nourishment and sensory pleasures, discovering other worlds through flavors, or even reaffirming our identity through certain dishes and ingredients cooked to perfection.

It is at the table and in the kitchen where entire generations forge their emotional bonds, the place where flavors and knowledge are transmitted amidst laughter, learning, and unique experiences. A good dish, in its simplicity, can reveal everything a person is or can become.
Aware of this, and that the challenges surrounding corporate social responsibility are built from a real human impact, involving each and every actor in its value chain, Grupo Anderson’s, in partnership with Unidos, a non-profit Civil Association, launched the initiative called Every story deserves a place at the table.
Conceived as a space where inclusion is prepared through the fun, trust, and creativity of children, both entities invited their community to tell their story from that place where early stimuli turn us into little-big masters: the kitchen.
The idea, very simple but powerful, consisted of creating desserts inspired by the personal stories of the participating children, with subsequent deliberation by a jury composed of Alejandra Castillo and Jorge Boneta, chefs from Grupo Anderson’s.

The event crowned the expectation created around Every story deserves a place at the table was held just a few days ago at Porfirio’s Guadalajara restaurant, where seven teams (six couples and one team of three members) created a lively coexistence among friends, family, chefs, and jury, who after deliberation selected the couple who authored the winning dessert.

Thus, the sweet delicacy baptized as Brownidos – a succulent brownie block accompanied by colorful candies and creamy ice cream – gave 14-year-old Ámbar (a goalball athlete representing Jalisco in the National Paralympics) and 10-year-old Emily (a primary school student with a strong passion for basketball and mathematics) the final triumph, endorsed by the irrefutable approval of chefs Castillo and Boneta.
This gastronomic experience with a cause was not limited to coexistence, as Brownidos will be part of the menu at selected Grupo Anderson’s restaurants for a limited time, such as Porfirio’s, La Vicenta, Fred’s, and Bodega Argentina from April 15 to May 3.

It is also worth mentioning that a percentage of the dessert sales will be allocated to Fundación Unidos, a non-profit organization focused on the social inclusion of people with and without disabilities through recreational activities and awareness workshops, adding a component of true social impact to this human equation.
