A man was arrested this Sunday for allegedly killing his octogenarian mother in the municipality of Ponteareas (Pontevedra). After being treated at the Álvaro Cunqueiro Hospital in Vigo, he confessed to the crime and was arrested.

The Civil Guard, which is investigating the incident, has gone to the scene, on Dos Carballos street. The woman’s body was found at 14:30 and is awaiting an autopsy. Sources from the investigation told the Efe agency that she has serious injuries and that the confessed perpetrator has a psychiatric history.
