The Barcelona express bus X1 will reach the Zona Universitària starting September 21, coinciding with the European Mobility Week, according to a statement from TMB this Sunday. Until now, the bus only reached Francesc Macià square, while now it will go as far as Albert Bastardas avenue, at the end of the Diagonal.

With the launch of this new section, TMB connects “more quickly” the city center, especially the Eixample and Glòries, with the Zona Universitària.
Also for the European Mobility Week, and as usual, TMB will open some of its most emblematic spaces to the public. On September 14, registrations will open on the Barcelona City Council website to take these visits, which are free, throughout the weekend of September 19 to 20.

Among other spaces, visitors will be able to see the ‘ghost’ Gaudí metro station, which was never inaugurated; the Santa Eulàlia metro workshops, dating from 1922 and the oldest in the infrastructure; and the ZAL workshops, in the Zona Franca.
Likewise, TMB will organize a classic bus exhibition on September 18 and 19 on Passeig de Gràcia.
