PRISA Media CEO, Pilar Gil, has received the Special Business Leader Award granted by Directivos de Capital Humano (DCH), the largest Human Resources organization in Europe and America. The company’s vice president, from the group that publishes EL PAÍS, was recognized at a gala held in Madrid this Thursday for “her leadership, business vision, and contribution to promoting purpose-driven organizations.”
“This award belongs to my team, where calling the Human Resources area ‘people and culture’ is not just a trend, but a commitment and action,” Gil emphasized in her acceptance speech. The CEO also extended the award to the group’s president, Joseph Oughorlian; to the 3,600 employees of PRISA Media and its 1,800 journalists, “who dedicate themselves to seeking, verifying, and publishing the truth to build a more informed and freer society,” and to the millions of readers, listeners, and followers of PRISA Media’s titles.
Gil was appointed CEO of PRISA Media a year ago and took the opportunity during the evening to recall that in this time she has consolidated the independence and excellence of PRISA’s media both in Spain and America: “It has been 12 months to insist that a company is worth as much as its team and clients; to make clear that what matters to us at PRISA is independence, profitability, and commitment to society.”
At this tenth edition of the HR Gala, six other awards were presented: WTC Award for Employer Brand Development to Esteve Conesa, Human Resources and Culture Director at Almirall; Facthum Award for HR Executive Career to Juan Antonio Fernández, Global Human Resources Director at SACYR; HR Forum Award for Best Communicator to Núria Martín, Human Resources Director at Cuatrecasas; Award for Digitalization of the HR Function to Marta Panzano, Human Resources, Communication and ESG Director at Verisure; Talent Development Award to Teresa Cervera, Corporate People Director at Fundación Universitaria CEU San Pablo; and Award for Development of Well-being in the Organization to Mara Porras Martínez, Health and Well-being Director for Europe and Latin America at Sanitas.
