The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) has denied that it has already decided whether or not to repeat its admission exam, which has been at the center of controversy due to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in its latest edition, where university authorities found “atypical” results. “Avoid misinformation. All information about the UNAM 2026 selection process will be published exclusively on the University’s official channels,” the university entity stated in a communiqué attaching a text, viral on social media, that simulates being a UNAM announcement for the exam to be repeated. The university has not yet made a decision on how it will resolve the crisis triggered by fraud in the test.

UNAM published the exam results on July 17, showing scores with a significant increase in high marks in undergraduate programs with high demand, such as Medicine and Law. It is the first time that the educational center, considered the best public university in Mexico and Latin America, has conducted this test online.
