Antonio Oseguera Cervantes, alias Tony Montana, pleaded guilty this Friday in Washington to the crimes of drug trafficking and weapons possession. The 68-year-old brother of Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, El Mencho, former leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), has formalized his plea deal before Judge Beryl A. Howell, who explained to him that he will face a life prison sentence and a possible asset forfeiture order exceeding 10 million dollars. The magistrate has set sentencing for November 13 at 9:30 AM.

U.S. authorities identify him as the main financial and logistical operator of the CJNG. Tony Montana has been in custody of authorities north of the border since February 27, 2025. Oseguera Cervantes was part of the group that the Mexican Government extradited along with 27 other alleged organized crime members. This is due to his involvement in drug trafficking, homicide, illegal weapons use, money laundering, and other crimes.
