FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have reached a preliminary agreement for the transfer of Ferran Torres. According to this newspaper, both clubs have started exchanging documentation and are working to close the deal in the coming days, a transfer that will be around 50 million euros.

The main supporter of the operation is Luis Enrique. The Asturian coach, who avoided commenting publicly on the market when asked about the Valencian forward, is also the one who knows his conditions best: he was the one who gave him his first senior call-up in September 2020 and who made him a regular part of the national team throughout his tenure as coach, including the Qatar World Cup. PSG also needs to strengthen its attack after Gonçalo Ramos’ departure to AC Milan and sees in Torres a player capable of playing as a striker or on either wing, which fits with the rotation he manages alongside Kvaratskhelia, Doué, and Dembélé.
Torres arrived at Barça in January 2022 from Manchester City, in a deal worth around 55 million fixed plus another 10 in variables. He signed a contract until June 2027 with a release clause of 1,000 million. Since then, he has played in all three attacking positions for the Blaugrana, although mostly on the left, and has gained importance season after season until becoming, in the last two seasons, an important piece for Hansi Flick.
In 2025-26, what could now be his last season at the club, Torres has recorded his best scoring record as a Blaugrana: 21 goals in all competitions, 16 of them in the League. He has also been a key player in winning the League and the Spanish Super Cup. His performance was boosted by a World Cup in which he ended up being decisive for the national team, scoring the goal that secured the title in extra time of the final against Argentina.
This context explains the Parisian interest in a proven forward, with European experience since his time at City, who arrives at this transfer window in his best form. For Barça, although the club recovered the 1:1 financial fair play rule in May, the real salary margin remains limited: each signing requires freeing up an equivalent mass, and the sale of Torres would open that space.
