New details of Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez's wedding: prenuptial agreement with separation of assets and four witnesses

The Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Notícias (JN) published new details about one of the most anticipated weddings of this year, that of the couple formed by Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez (Buenos Aires, 32 years old). The influencer and the footballer (Funchal, Portugal, 41 years old), who said “I do” last August 11 in a civil ceremony in Cascais (Portugal), did so after signing a prenuptial agreement, according to the marriage certificate to which the Portuguese newspaper had exclusive access this Thursday, August 13.

Among other things, the document, which can be seen scanned on its website, identifies the witnesses of the ceremony, confirms the prenuptial agreement signed the day before, and shows that Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez will keep their surnames.

Regarding another of the most sensitive issues of any wedding, especially when a great purchasing power is at stake, the document confirms that Cristiano and Georgina opted for a prenuptial agreement with separation of assets, a contract formalized before the marriage to define the couple’s property regime which, in their case, was signed on August 10, one day before the ceremony, at a notary office in the city of Lisbon. The agreement reflects that the couple married under a separation of assets regime, that is, the one that stipulates that each person keeps the assets they had before the marriage and also those acquired afterwards. Under this legal figure, in the case of buying something jointly, that asset can belong to both.

The certificate of their marriage, which carries registration number 1493/2026, also indicates that the couple maintains their habitual residence in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), as Cristiano is currently a player for the Al-Nassr club. Additionally, it can be seen that neither of the two spouses has changed their name after the marriage.

The certificate also clarifies some of the most talked-about absences and presences at the wedding, which was held in the strictest privacy. Not only were the couple’s five children present — Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. (born in 2010), the twins Eva and Mateo (from June 2017), Alana Martina (their first daughter together; born in November 2017), and Bella Esmeralda (from April 2022) — the only attendees reported in the press release announcing their wedding. It is now also known that there were four witnesses at the intimate ceremony in Cascais. The information collected by JN confirms that they were Miguel Paixão, a friend of Cristiano Ronaldo since his youth years at Sporting, Ivana Rodríguez, Georgina’s also television-famous sister, the Spanish jeweler José Rodríguez Sangil, and his wife, Mónica González Martínez.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother and three siblings did not attend, although this does not seem to have caused any rift in the player’s family, despite what some in Portugal have implied. At least, the footballer’s mother and sister, Dolores Aveiro and Katia Aveiro, reacted to the Instagram post by the couple with their wedding rings. To the photo that, in line with the one they published exactly a year earlier to announce their engagement, showed the intertwined hands of the couple with their wedding rings, mother and sister left a heart in the comments.

Among those who have seen a snub in the non-invitation is Portuguese television presenter Cristina Ferreira, who, on the TVI program Dois às 10, during the section Conversations with coffee, spoke about the absence of Dolores Aveiro and Cristiano’s siblings, saying that perhaps they found out about the ceremony shortly before it took place. “If they knew, it was thirty seconds before,” she said on the TV show. The footballer did not want to miss the opportunity to respond to these statements, and took advantage of a post on the program’s Instagram profile from a couple of days ago, a video of the moment when his wedding was discussed, to write in a comment: “Cristina, I’m going to give you an exclusive. That channel knows very little.”
