According to police sources reported to EFE, the adult detainee, accused of attempted murder by injury, is a merchant victim of thefts, while the four arrested minors are the alleged perpetrators of several robberies committed in Lleida.
The events that led to this brawl date back to the robberies committed several weeks ago in Lleida. Last Friday, August 14, the Mossos d’Esquadra arrested two minors for their alleged involvement in robberies committed in mid-July. They were later released, and on Saturday the 15th, the mass fight occurred between merchants who were victims of robberies and the alleged perpetrators, in which the adult was arrested for attempted murder.
Yesterday, Sunday, according to Mossos sources, some incidents were still recorded: a robbery in a store, for which another minor was arrested, and an attempted robbery, which led to the arrest of the fourth minor.
The aforementioned sources indicated that the merchants affected by these robberies are mainly Pakistani and Indian, while the alleged perpetrators of the robberies are mainly Spanish and Maghrebi. The Generalitat Police maintains an active preventive device in Lleida involving agents from Citizen Security and ARRO, along with local police forces. This special device has been deployed in the neighborhoods of Clot, Balàfia, Pardinyes, and Parc de les Vies.
