The Mossos d’Esquadra are investigating the violent death of a man in La Ràpita (Tarragona) that occurred in the early hours of this Sunday following a fight. In a statement, the Catalan police report that they received an alert about a violent confrontation between groups of people in the municipality around 3:30 a.m., so Mossos officers went to the scene and confirmed that there was an injured man.

At that moment the victim was still alive, and personnel from the Medical Emergency System (SEM), who dispatched three ambulances to the scene, performed resuscitation maneuvers. Despite the efforts of the medical staff to save the injured man’s life, he ultimately died.

The investigation of the causes, carried out by the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of the Terres de l’Ebre, is under secrecy of proceedings.
