Osasuna and Levante earned their first points of the season. A goalless draw largely built on the good performance of Ryan, Levante’s goalkeeper, who blocked Osasuna’s paths to goal, especially Budimir and Moncayola. The Navarrese team, in which Luis Miguel Ramis made his debut as coach, lacks a lot of football. There were moments, like a couple of magnificent controls by Iker Muñoz, but if Budimir doesn’t score, Osasuna’s performance drops significantly. Levante is clearly a team under construction, with new players gradually joining, such as Sotelo. A good point was worked for, no doubt, also thanks to Mandi, the veteran central defender who just played the World Cup with Algeria, who cleared a ball off the line in the second half after a great action by Budimir. It gave the impression that both teams are doomed to suffer, like most teams in the First Division.

For Ramis, a tall central defender from Madrid’s youth academy, it took 301 matches on the benches in the Second Division to debut in one in the First Division, that of Osasuna. And it seems the coach does not want to change too many things in the Navarrese team. With hardly any reinforcements, Osasuna, with five youth players in their starting eleven, was again that team that, at least at El Sadar, lives by sending thousands of crosses into the box looking for Budimir.
They did little more against a Levante that also doesn’t offer much. That said, Brugué hit the post in the 33rd minute and then weathered as best he could the shots from Rubén García and Moncayola to reach halftime with a zero-zero score. Ryan was undoubtedly Levante’s key player. At 54 minutes, his dive from post to post frustrated Budimir. These were the best minutes of an Osasuna that came close to scoring, saved by Mandi against the Croatian striker, who dribbled the Australian goalkeeper for the central defender to clear on the line. Osasuna did not do much more, perhaps somewhat tired. Neither Moro nor Raúl García Haro offered much. Levante tried in some forays by Brugué, but there was no goal. Nor much brilliance.
