Several aerial units and firefighter crews are tackling a fire in the Devesa de El Saler, in Valencia

Three aerial units and six municipal fire crews have been operating since noon this Thursday in the Gola de Pujol area, in the Devesa de El Saler of Valencia, due to a fire in this protected area belonging to the Albufera natural park. The Local Police are evacuating the parking lot as a precaution and controlling access to the area, according to the Valencia City Council.

The firefighters received a report of smoke in the Gola de Pujol, a column that was visible from several points, so six crews were mobilized and three aerial units from the Generalitat joined in.

Additionally, the Sideinfo cannons of El Saler have been activated as a precaution, a high-pressure hydraulic network that allows soaking the perimeter vegetation in case of fire to prevent its spread.
