A young man dies in Parla after suffering a cut to the neck with a bottle and another is injured in the chest

A 24-year-old young man has been murdered in Parla and another young man, the same age and a friend of his, has been injured in the chest in a weekend brawl, according to a spokesperson from the 112 Community of Madrid who informed this newspaper. The deceased young man had a very deep wound on his neck, which was not caused by a knife, but by “a broken bottle that was stabbed into him,” according to sources from the investigation. His friend was also injured “with bottle fragments.” The National Police are investigating the causes of the incident and have arrested two men at the scene, a nightlife area, as alleged perpetrators, one accused of a completed homicide and the other of serious injuries.

The first emergency call to 112 was made at 6:35 this Sunday, reporting that “a brawl had occurred at the door of a leisure venue in Parla,” a town 20 kilometers south of the capital with about 138,000 inhabitants. The call detailed that there were two injured and that one was in very bad condition and in cardiac arrest.

The first to arrive at the scene, at the corner of Torrejón Street and Santo Tomás de Aquino, at number 10, opposite the 5th Avenue nightclub, were officers from los Zeta or National Police radio patrols, who began performing the first resuscitation maneuvers on the injured “who was worse, with a deep wound on the neck,” which was continued by Summa 112. However, emergency medical personnel could do nothing for the young man and confirmed his death.

In a video released by 112, Summa shift chief María Redondo explains that the medical staff found the patient indeed “in cardiac arrest” and performed advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers for 40 minutes “without any result and unable to save his life.”

They also treated another 24-year-old man, “a friend of the victim,” who had “a stab wound on the left side of the chest,” specifically at the “lower part of the left lung.” The man was transferred “alive, stable” and potentially seriously injured to the Puerta de Hierro hospital in Majadahonda. He is potentially serious because, although initially not apparent, the wound could have reached the lung and requires further analysis to determine his condition.

Additionally, Summa 112 brought the on-call psychologist to the scene to attend to the mother and other relatives and friends of the victim, who came to the location. The area was very crowded at the time of the incident, and about 60 people watched as the victims were attended to.

According to a police spokesperson speaking to EL PAÍS, officers found out that the assaults “did not occur inside the nightclub, but at the door.” There, a heated argument took place between the young man who was ultimately killed and the alleged attacker, who left the scene, entered a doorway, and came out accompanied by another man. Between the two, they attacked the young men, one each, with pieces of a broken bottle.

The police identified both and learned they were still in the area, which they searched until they found and arrested them. One, 25 years old, naturalized Spanish and born in the Dominican Republic, was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of the crime, thus charged with a completed homicide, while the other, 40, also Peruvian naturalized Spanish, was charged with serious injuries.

Both detainees, who are not related, will be brought before the judicial authority in the coming hours. The two victims are also Spanish born in the Dominican Republic, like the alleged murderer. All lines of investigation regarding the reasons for the brawl are open, from a simple bar fight to the possibility of youth gangs being involved.
