Actress Paz Vega and her husband, businessman Orson Salazar, have ended their relationship after 25 years together, as confirmed by ¡Hola! magazine. The publication stated that the Spanish actress agreed to confirm the news of her separation from the father of her three children through her new representation office, Meraki Agents. “They assure us that she is determined to put all her effort into making this process happen in the best possible way for the sake of her three children, two of whom are still minors,” the magazine published this weekend. The report also quotes her representatives, who emphasize that the actress, who is also a director, “greatly appreciates the interest and asks for respect for her privacy and that of her family at this very painful time,” and confirm that she will not make any further statements on the matter.

A week ago, Paz Vega published a message on her social media that started the separation rumors. “How difficult it is to accept what you have tried to deny for so long… Realizing that the wind is against you and that every day you are closer to that place where oblivion reigns and the melancholy of what could have been… It is hard to look face to face at that future that is already present with eyes empty of illusion for a new dawn… I got on the wrong train, and when I wanted to get off it was too late, I was far, very far. And walking back the way I came was not an option. There are no more trains or paths that will take me to where one day, as a child, I dreamed, but I stopped dreaming a long time ago… and hearing the beat of my heart, there is only noise and I drown in it. I need silence…”, shared the 50-year-old actress.
According to ¡Hola!, the last photo of them together on social media dates back to September last year, when the now ex-couple posed in front of a mirror before a fashion show in Milan. In another Instagram post (where the actress has 532,000 followers) from last week, Vega spoke of having crossed a bridge and being present and strong in her fragility. Singer Marta Sánchez, a great friend of the actress from Lucía y el sexo or El otro lado de la cama, left her a forceful comment: “What happens is for the best.”

The Sevillian actress married Orson Salazar Roa in 2002 in Caracas, Venezuela, his country of origin, and in 2005 they repeated the ceremony to marry in church. The now ex-couple has three children together: Orson Jr., 19; Ava, almost 17; and Lenon, 15. Since 2017, the family returned to live in Madrid after more than a decade in the United States: “I really enjoyed the 14 or 15 years I was there. I learned a language I didn’t know, I adapted to a culture totally foreign to mine, I raised my children in Los Angeles, and that was very good,” she explained in an interview published in EL PAÍS Semanal in 2024.
In her last conversation with this newspaper, she spoke about her first film as a director, Rita, and filming for her second directorial work, Ana No, is expected to begin soon. “I can say that I have been happy when I had my children and while filming this movie. I wonder why I didn’t do it sooner,” she said. She also stated that being an actress and becoming a director “is like when you are in love… but you meet someone else.
