A civil guard died this Friday in Huelva after the collision of two boats from the Maritime Service of the Civil Guard while pursuing a drug-running speedboat about 80 miles off the coast of Huelva. According to the information provided, the accident occurred during an operation against drug trafficking. As a result of the crash, in addition to the deceased officer, three other members of the Corps were injured: two seriously and one lightly. The injured were treated and transferred to receive medical assistance.
From within the Corps, condolences have been expressed for the death of the officer and a message of support has been sent to his family and colleagues, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery to the civil guards injured during the operation. “We regret the death in the line of duty of our colleague Germán after a collision of two boats from the Maritime Service of the Civil Guard while pursuing a drug-running speedboat off the coast of Huelva. During the operation, in addition to the deceased, two members of the Corps were seriously injured and one lightly. We wish them a speedy recovery,” they stated on the official profile of the Civil Guard on the social network X, a message that has also been shared by the Ministry of the Interior’s account.

The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, also wanted to send a message of condolences through his social networks: “I am very sorry for the loss of another officer in the line of duty and that three others have been injured. Our affection to his family, to all his colleagues in Huelva and to the entire Civil Guard corps. And, above all, our commitment: more resources, more support and more authority for those who defend the State and the law every day,” he said.
Likewise, the Unified Association of Civil Guards has expressed their sorrow on social networks, where they have shown themselves “shocked” by the news, as well as sending “strength, support and affection” both to the families of the deceased and the injured, as well as their speedy recovery.
