At least seven civilians have died and another 11 have been injured following an attack by a Ukrainian drone on a bus traveling through Donetsk (territory of Ukraine occupied by Russia), denounced this Wednesday by the pro-Russian leader of the region, Denis Pushilin. “The Ukrainian fascists perpetrated another inhuman and unprecedented act of aggression early this morning. According to preliminary data, seven civilians lost their lives and another 11 people were injured to varying degrees,” he wrote on Telegram.

Ukraine has intensified attacks in recent weeks against the logistical routes of the Russian rear that supply the front and connect the annexed Crimean Peninsula with mainland Russia, some of which pass through Donetsk territories under Russian control. These attacks have caused a fuel shortage in Crimea and forced Russian authorities to restrict its sale.

Additionally, Ukraine launched more than 350 drones overnight against 15 regions of Russia, including Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and Leningrad, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense and local authorities. The press service of the Saint Petersburg Government stated that “several critical infrastructures in the Kronstadt, Kirov, and Krasnoselsky districts were attacked by drones of the Ukrainian Nazis” during the early hours. “Several targets were damaged. Efforts are currently underway to mitigate the consequences. Several people were injured. There are no deaths,” the authorities added without giving details.

In the Leningrad region, which surrounds Saint Petersburg and has been the target of attacks on its port terminals and refineries in recent months, 59 drones were shot down, according to local governor Alexandr Drozdenko on MAX. Saint Petersburg’s Pulkovo International Airport was forced to suspend or divert about thirty flights.

Meanwhile, Moscow’s mayor, Sergey Sobyanin, reported the shooting down of 22 drones heading to the Russian capital. According to Efe, several explosions were heard south of Moscow on Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. Moscow’s Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports, in the south of the capital, interrupted their operations twice during the night.

This Ukrainian attack comes barely 24 hours after the massive Russian missile and drone bombardment against civilian buildings, companies of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex, and critical infrastructure in Kiev and six other regions of Ukraine carried out early Tuesday. The Ukrainian Air Force indicated in its morning report that it was one of the most massive attacks of the entire war, in which Russia used 73 missiles of various types, including 33 ballistic missiles, and 656 long-range drones. At least 23 civilians died.
