The comedian Héctor de Miguel, known in the industry as Quequé, was arrested this Wednesday night by the National Police of Salamanca, the city he comes from, due to a judicial claim from a court in Madrid. The Efe agency reported this arrest according to sources from the Government delegation in Castilla and León without specifying the reason for the arrest. The Salamanca subdelegation, consulted by EL PAÍS, also did not indicate the motivation for the police action. Quequé spent the night in a Salamanca police station with no further details on what will happen with his legal situation.
The comedian has recently clashed with the ultra-Catholic platform Christian Lawyers, a reactionary group that frequently files complaints against comedians or associations they believe attack Christian values. On March 16, the Instruction Court 6 of Valladolid agreed to open a trial against the Salamanca comedian as the alleged author of a coercion crime committed against the president of Christian Lawyers, Polonia Castellanos. The Prosecutor’s Office demands two years in prison for him for a coercion crime, linked to harassment, and the payment of compensation of 6,000 euros for damage and moral harm. The public ministry considers the entity Cadena SER civilly responsible, on whose microphones Quequé, who had a radio program on this station, frequently made jocular or sharp comments against Castellanos and the platform she leads.

Last year, on May 8, 2025, the Madrid Provincial Court dismissed a case against Quequé because it did not find a hate crime, of which he was accused, in the statements he made on his radio program about blowing up the Valley of the Fallen and stoning pedophile priests.
