The State Meteorological Agency has updated the risk of forest fires in Spain this Saturday and places eight autonomous communities at an extreme level, the highest. The most concerning areas are Huesca (Aragon), the eastern half of Andalusia, the Region of Murcia, and the Community of Madrid, except for the metropolitan area; the southeast of Castilla y León, the north of Catalonia, areas in almost all provinces of Castilla-La Mancha, and some strips in the Valencian Community. The forest fire in Orés that is ravaging the Cinco Villas region in Zaragoza continues advancing on the left flank and already affects 15,400 hectares, according to the Government of Aragon. The flames have reached a perimeter of about 60 kilometers so far and have forced the evacuation of six localities in Zaragoza —Orés, Asín, Luesia, Malpica de Arba, Peraltilla, and Uncastillo— and one in Navarre, Petilla de Aragón. The other fire of concern is La Mierla (Guadalajara), with about 3,800 hectares burned and 11 municipalities evacuated. In Málaga, the fire declared on Friday in Árchez, which forced the town of Cómpeta to be confined for more than five hours, was stabilized last night and work is now underway to control and extinguish it.

Zaragoza | Azcón states that “the night has not been favorable” in the Orés fire
The President of the Government of Aragon, Jorge Azcón, communicated during the Cecopi meeting to monitor the Orés fire in Zaragoza that “the night has not been favorable,” and detailed that “the changing wind has widened the perimeter” of the fire. Previously, the regional government stated that the burned hectares amount to 15,400. “Work continues with great effort, but climatic and topographic conditions are extraordinarily complicating the work of the extinguishing teams,” Azcón wrote in a message on X.
Guadalajara | Aerial resources return to extinguishing efforts in La Mierla, where more than 300 personnel are working
Four aerial resources have returned after the night to the extinguishing efforts of the fire originated in La Mierla (Guadalajara), which is far from being controlled and has already burned more than 3,800 hectares.
Currently, according to information provided by the Infocam Plan, 54 ground resources are also working on this level 2 fire, totaling 306 personnel, including firefighters from the Community of Madrid and personnel from the Military Emergency Unit.
The fire has so far forced the evacuation of about 529 people from 11 municipalities —El Odriazal, Zarzuela de Jadraque, Arroyo de las Fraguas, Almiruete, Palancares, Semillas, Las Navas de Jadraque, La Mierla, Muriel, and Umbralejo— and 3,843 hectares have been affected by the flames. (EP)

Málaga | Árchez fire stabilized that forced the confinement of the town of Cómpeta
The forest fire declared on Friday afternoon in Árchez (Málaga), which forced the town of Cómpeta to be confined for more than five hours, was stabilized last night and work is now underway to control and extinguish it.
The Vice President of the Junta and Minister of Presidency, Health, and Emergencies, Antonio Sanz, has reported on X the progress of the extinguishing tasks and thanked the Infoca Plan and the neighbors for their “exemplary behavior.”
The emergency device had already lifted the confinement of the municipality of Cómpeta, with about 4,400 registered people, at 8:50 p.m. on Friday, after several hours confined. The City Council informed that all residents living inside the town and who were outside could return to their homes “with total normality.”
However, residents in the areas of El Atajo, Loma de Archez, and Las Zorreras have not been able to return to their homes during the night, so the City Council will offer them an alternative location and the care they need. The fire caused the evacuation of 162 people from scattered homes in the fire zone in Árchez, Cómpeta, and Canillas de Albaida, although no personal injuries have been reported.
