A 34-year-old woman has died after being stabbed by her partner in a home in Barcelona this Tuesday afternoon, the Mossos d’Esquadra have reported. The perpetrator fled after stabbing the victim in a residence on Andrade Street, in the Sant Martí district of Barcelona, and is being sought by the officers.

The Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of the Mossos d’Esquadra is investigating the violent death. The body received a report around 19:47 hours for an assault in a home on Andrade Street and, upon arriving at the scene, the officers found a woman seriously injured who, after being attended to by emergency services, was confirmed dead.
The DIC has taken over the case to clarify the circumstances of the death and determine the causes, the same statement indicates.

So far this year, 32 women have been murdered by their partners or ex-partners. Since the official statistics began in 2003, the total is 1,373 women.
