A volleyball coach has been arrested in Palma for allegedly raping and impregnating a minor. The events date back to June when, according to sources close to the case confirmed to Europa Press following reports published this Tuesday by the newspaper Última Hora, the 23-year-old Bolivian coach invited the victim, 15 years old, and another minor to eat at his house.

The perpetrator had been coaching the teenagers for several seasons. When the meal ended, according to the same sources, the other minor left, but the victim stayed in the house and, as she reported, the coach locked her in a room, demanded that she undress, and finally raped her, warning her afterward not to reveal what had happened.
A family member of the girl was surprised by her change in behavior and, when weeks later she began to feel unwell, accompanied her to a hospital in Palma, where it was confirmed that she was pregnant.

After receiving the complaint, the Family and Women’s Care Unit of the National Police arrested the rape suspect and handed him over to the duty court. The young man was arrested by the National Police last week and, after appearing before the judge on Saturday, was released on charges with a restraining order.
