Tech giant Meta disclosed this Wednesday a net profit of 42.621 billion dollars (37.220 billion euros) in the first half of 2026, 22% more than in the same period a year ago. The company has been driven by its social media activity and artificial intelligence (AI).

The company owning WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook billed 117.111 billion dollars (102.271 billion euros) in the first six months of the year, 30% more year-on-year. The advertising business of these networks has been its main revenue driver, according to a statement published by the tech company at the close of Wall Street.

“AI is accelerating our core business today and fueling our next generation of products and opening the door to completely new opportunities,” said the tech company’s chief executive, Marz Zuckerberg, in that note.
