A young man was taken to the hospital in serious condition early this morning after being attacked on the street by a minor. The attacker was arrested a few minutes later, and the fight is being investigated as a possible retaliation in clashes between youth gangs. The victim was sitting on a bench with a friend when he was assaulted by the boy with a glass bottle. The attack took place on Arroyo del Olivar street, very close to the Rayo Vallecas stadium, whose surroundings have been the scene of numerous skirmishes between gang members.
The injured person is a 29-year-old Honduran young man who was sitting on a bench with a friend early in the morning. This witness recounts that, around three in the morning, the minor accompanied by a girl approached where they were and began to harass them, police sources indicate. Then, this boy took out a bottle, broke it, and attacked both, but only managed to hit one of them. After his arrest, the alleged perpetrator was handed over to the National Police’s Juvenile Group. He is a Colombian teenager born in 2008.
In the assault, the minor caused very serious injuries to the face and neck. When emergency services arrived, they found the young man with heavy bleeding, so they had to stabilize him and transfer him to the hospital in critical condition, according to police sources. At the hospital, the victim underwent emergency surgery.
The area has been the scene of numerous skirmishes between gang members, as it is a territory dominated by the Trinitarios. The latest attacks have been carried out by this gang and the Ñetas. Three months ago, a young man named Diler was stabbed near the Entrevías station, and it is suspected that the stabber is another minor belonging to the Ñetas. And in April 2025, another young man named Ember was stabbed just 10 minutes from where this morning’s attack occurred when he was leaving the supermarket with his mother.

The surroundings of Payaso Fofó park are a usual meeting place for gang members. To cite two examples, in August 2024 a young man was attacked with machete blows and suffered the semi-amputation of an arm, and in September 2023, a 13-year-old boy was found on that street after attacking a 16-year-old outside the school.
