Agents from the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of the Mossos d’Esquadra, who are investigating the discovery of a man shot dead in a container in the Lloret Residencial Urbanization of Lloret de Mar (Selva) on Friday, July 31, carried out a raid and search last Monday at a home located on Saturn Street, just a few kilometers north of where the body was found. As they suspected, they found an alleged crime scene. In the garage of the house, they found several bullet impacts and blood, which would correspond to the victim, who was shot multiple times in the back. However, there was no trace of its occupants, who according to sources close to the case, would have left the place the same day of the crime.

The alert was given by a neighbor of the residential area who saw, among the trash, under a piece of furniture, an arm around 4:25 p.m. on July 31. The investigation initiated by the DIC agents led them to identify the victim, a 29-year-old Gambian young man residing in the town. Once the autopsy was done and his execution confirmed — he received several shots in the back — they searched the containers located at the intersection of Pas, Urà streets and Rafael Alberti Avenue for all the evidence and clues that could lead them to the perpetrator or perpetrators.
The agents tried to reconstruct the victim Mohamad J.’s last hours of life, and among other inquiries, they interrogated his closest circle to find out both the possible motive for the crime and to identify its perpetrators. As a result of the investigation, they were able to find out that, very possibly, the murder had taken place elsewhere and the victim’s body had been transported to the container in some vehicle. Once their suspicions were confirmed, and with a clear line of investigation leading to certain individuals, last Monday, with the appropriate judicial order from the Blanes court handling the case, they carried out a raid and search at this home, in the Lloret Blau urbanization. The garage, with bloodstains and bullet impacts, was the crime scene. However, there was no trace of the perpetrators.

The agents continue to track the killers, while the victim’s family, who cannot afford the cost of repatriating the body to Gambia, his country of origin, started a solidarity campaign three days ago to raise 10,000 euros. By Wednesday afternoon, more than 680 donations had been made, many of small amounts, but also from people who had donated between 100 and 200 euros. A total of 11,199 euros has been raised. The court handling the case keeps the cause secret.
