The 27-year-old man who was hospitalized in very serious condition after being assaulted this Thursday in the San Juan beach area in Alicante, allegedly by another man, 22 years old, has died, according to sources from the National Police confirmed to Efe. The incident occurred around 5:20 a.m. at the TRAM stop Campo de Golf, in Playa de San Juan, and the alleged perpetrator of the assault has been arrested, the same sources reported.

The arrested individual is at the National Police Station in the Alicante capital, awaiting to be brought before the court, and the arrest was made by the Violent Crime Group of the Provincial Judicial Police Brigade of Alicante.

So far, the circumstances in which the events occurred have not been disclosed, although officers are taking statements from witnesses and continuing investigations. Apparently, both the victim and the alleged perpetrator of the assault had come from a nightclub before the incident occurred. The mentioned sources indicated that there was no prior argument between the two at that establishment and specified that they did not know each other.
