The Drop: a Snowfall story

This spin-off of the series Snowfall follows the characters Wanda Bell (Gail Bean) and Leon Simmons (Isaiah John) in their struggle to reinvent themselves in 1990s Los Angeles. There, the aftermath of the crack epidemic gives way to a new game: the rise of rap on the West Coast. Wanda believes that music has the power to transform American culture and decides to bring together a diverse group of geniuses to make her dreams come true. To achieve this, she must navigate the dangerous intersection of music and street politics, for which she turns to her cousins Lamar and James Kinsey and pursues the local rapper Artillery, an unstable guy who has trouble with the law.

Her practices with the former dealer turned record label owner, Darry DG Grat, open doors for her but also increase the tension between her and Leon. He has sworn to leave the street forever and seek his own redemption with a free legal clinic. Ambition, loyalty, and survival collide.
