The emergency phone number 112 has received 373 calls related to the intense storms and strong winds that have affected several points in Catalonia during the afternoon, especially in that area of the community due to fallen trees and minor flooding.
Likewise, the Generalitat Firefighters have attended 162 calls between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., the vast majority of them in the province of Tarragona, a total of 141, of which 105 were in the capital of Tarragona. Most of the incidents due to the heavy rains, accompanied in some cases by hail, as well as the strong wind, are due to fallen trees and branches, minor flooding, and snapping cables.
Ten autonomous communities had weather warnings activated this Monday. Seven are at yellow level and three at orange: Catalonia, Aragon, and the Balearic Islands. In the first two, the risk is due to rain and storms. In Catalonia, the orange warning was activated from 12:00 p.m. and will remain until the end of the day. Late in the afternoon, the rains were moving towards the Baix Camp area.
