Krsto Vujić, the man shot last Tuesday on the terrace of a bar on Taulat promenade in Poblenou, Barcelona, died this Sunday at the hospital where he was admitted, according to the newspaper Ara. Thus, the Mossos d’Esquadra are investigating the case as a crime of homicide, linked to a war between Serbian mafia clans, as a completed homicide.

The events occurred in the afternoon, in broad daylight, when the 44-year-old victim was on the terrace of a bar with his partner and baby. An individual approached him from behind and shot him twice, hitting him in the back. The police investigation links the incident to the battle that the Skaljari and Kavac clans have spread across Europe, criminal groups that initially collaborated and have now unleashed a war that has left about sixty fatalities in various European countries. With Vujić, who is linked to the Skaljari, there are now three fatalities in Catalonia, in addition to one more attempted homicide.
The business of the two gangs is the import of cocaine from South America. They were allies until 2014 when they fought over a 200-kilo shipment bound for Valencia after one of the clans allegedly left it in a place that was not agreed upon. Since then, they have started a battle that seems not to have concluded.
The Mossos d’Esquadra have been investigating both clans since 2017 and have managed to dismantle some of their factions. Last October, the Mossos and the National Police, in an operation with Serbian police, arrested 13 people with links to the Kavac.
