Imserso trips 2026-2027 will start selling on Monday, September 14

The marketing of the Imserso 2026-2027 travel season starts in a few days. Specifically, on Monday, September 14, sales will begin, and the first trip will take place from October 1 with a destination to Oropesa, announced this Thursday by the Minister of Social Rights, Consumption and Agenda 2030, Pablo Bustinduy. A total of 879,213 places are offered. Of these, 440,284, 50.1%, will be for peninsular coastal tourism, 228,142 (25.9%) for island coast, and 210,787 (23.9%) for getaways that include cultural circuits, nature tourism, provincial capitals, and the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla and of European origin.

Regarding the distribution by provinces, each one is assigned a number of available trips to each of the destinations in proportion to the number of people over 65 years old residing and registered in it, explains the ministry in a press release. In the first days of marketing, from September 14 to 18, applicants can only book trips existing in their quota by province, “with the aim of staggering sales to avoid possible overload of the travel reservation centers of the contracting companies and thus guarantee their proper functioning,” the text adds.

From the 19th, the possibility opens to book trips that have not been marketed from any province. It is worth remembering that the marketing process remains open throughout the season. “Cancellations, modifications, and withdrawals constantly generate new availabilities that are re-incorporated into the sales system, so it is common for new booking opportunities to appear throughout the months in all destinations,” the ministry points out.

Imserso will distribute 36% of the places in each batch proportionally throughout all the months of the campaign “to avoid the concentration of trips on few dates. The measure will help to de-seasonalize tourism, maintain activity and employment throughout the year, and reduce overcrowding during peak periods.”

Of the total available places, Social Rights has reserved 7,447 places at 50 euros, a flat rate that was implemented for the first time last season with the aim of preventing pensioners with lower income from being excluded from these trips. A total of 5,221 people took advantage of this reduced rate in its first year of validity. This figure, the ministry maintains, “contrasts with the previous season, in which there was a similar measure, consisting of a 50% discount on the total price of the trip, with which only 523 places were executed.” The most requested destinations by the beneficiaries of this rate have been Andalusia and cultural circuits, with 1,267 and 1,189 users respectively, followed by Catalonia, with 845 travelers.

This season also maintains the option for pensioners to travel with their pets, as 1,066 people did last season.

Pensioners can book their peninsular coastal tourism and getaway trips through the website www.turismosocial.es. In the case of island coastal tourism, it must be done on the website www.mundicolor.es. In both, DNI and an accreditation key are required. Likewise, reservations can be made at any authorized agency with only the DNI.
