The London-based Napoli on the Road, by Michele Pascarella, has been crowned the best pizzeria in the world. This was decided by the jury of 50 Top Pizza World, one of the sector’s reference guides curated by Barbara Guerra, Luciano Pignataro, and Albert Sapere. The awards ceremony was held this Tuesday at the Mercadante Theater in Naples, where the verdict of the ranking was announced.
At this event, hosted by Spanish journalist Verónica Zumalacárregui, second place went to Una Pizza Napoletana (New York), by pizzaiolo Anthony Mangieri. Third place was awarded to Confine (Milan), by Francesco Capece and Mario Ventura. Fourth place was shared by I Masanielli (Caserta, Italy), by Francesco Martucci, and Seu Pizza Illuminati (Rome), by Pier Daniele Seu and Valeria Zuppardo. Fifth place was also tied, with Pizzeria Sei (Los Angeles), by William Joo, and Tony’s Pizza Napoletana, by Tony Gemignani, in San Francisco.
The ranking continued with Leggera Pizza Napoletana, by André Guidon, in São Paulo, which placed sixth. Seventh place went to RistoPizza by Napoli sta ca (Tokyo), by Giuseppe Errichiello. In eighth position appeared the first Spanish pizzeria, Baldoria, by pizzaiolo Ciro Cristiano, in Madrid, while The Pizza Bar on 38th, led by Daniele Cason and also located in Tokyo, took ninth place. The top ten was completed by Razza, by Dan Richer, in Jersey City.
A total of 36 countries are represented in this year’s global ranking. Leading is Italy, with 31 establishments, followed by the United States with 22 and Brazil with six. Meanwhile, the most represented city is New York with seven venues, followed by Naples with six and São Paulo with five.

The six awarded Spanish pizzerias
The first Spanish establishment to appear in the ranking is Baldoria (José Ortega y Gasset 100, Madrid), which revalidates the eighth place acquired last year. “Being among the top ten pizzerias in the world for the second consecutive year has an even more special value for me because it shows that last year’s achievement was not a coincidence,” explains Ciro Cristiano, its Neapolitan owner settled in Madrid, in a statement, for whom this recognition has a special meaning. The chef returned to Naples for the third year and came back celebrating a new achievement of a project born with the intention of bringing the essence of his hometown to the Spanish capital.

The Baldoria project continues to accumulate successes this year, as it was already recognized as the second best pizzeria in Europe in the 50 Top Pizza Europe 2026 and the best in Spain earlier this summer. Additionally, these awards are now joined by the Best Marketing 2026 prize, awarded by 50 Top Pizza World, which recognizes its exceptional brand identity and communication strategy.

In 29th place is Sartoria Panatieri (Encarnació, 51 and Provença, 330, Barcelona), which held the top European position in 2023. In 69th place is Fratelli Figurato (Alonso Cano, 37, Avenida de Filipinas, 14 and Larra, 13); in 79th place Oura, located in Santiago de Compostela; in 83rd place, the Bilbao-based Demaio (San Francisco, 10); and finally, La Balmesina (Balmes, 193), the Barcelona establishment opened in 2016 by Massimo Morbi, Alessandro Zangrossi, and Mattia Ciresola, where they developed a way of understanding Italian pizza based on long fermentations and quality ingredients.
