Jordi Évole, the first guest of Atresmedia on ‘La revuelta’: “There are tensions because TVE is copying all the programming from La Sexta”

Jordi Évole’s visit this Thursday to La revuelta was a historic event within the TVE program. The host of Lo de Évole was the first person from Atresmedia to appear on the La 1 format, as was highlighted from his appearance on stage. “I feared a helicopter from Antena 3’s air force would come,” joked Broncano when Évole, who came to promote the documentary Sidosa, was already on the program’s stage.

“Have they stamped your visa? Have you notified anyone?” Broncano insisted after Évole hit the program’s drum shouting “Atresmedia, Atresmedia!”. The La Sexta host explained that he had asked permission from José Antonio Antón, the group’s general director. “I told him, David called me to go to La revuelta, and he said no problem.”

The relationship between TVE and Atresmedia was the topic at the start of the interview. “Today is a day when relations can be normalized,” Broncano emphasized. “I have never had them unnormalized; if someone doesn’t have them normalized, that’s their problem,” Évole replied. “But at an institutional level, between companies, the situation is tense,” added Broncano. “Of course, there are tensions, because if Televisión Española is copying all of La Sexta’s programming…” Évole concluded, throwing a poisoned dart he did not want to elaborate on despite Broncano’s insistence, who ended up pointing out Marc Giró’s signing by La Sexta as an example that it is something reciprocal.

“I think this should be more normal than it is. For me, it shouldn’t be news that I’m on a TVE program, and even less on La revuelta. But it’s true that this rarely happens,” said Évole, who from the beginning of the program answered Broncano’s questions sitting down for fear of suffering a cataplexy attack. “You’re the first to come,” Broncano added. “Someone has to open the way,” Évole replied. “It’s public television, which by definition has to be open to everyone,” Broncano concluded.

The controversy actually came from before and has El hormiguero as another protagonist. In an interview with EL PAÍS at the beginning of 2025, Évole was asked where he would go first, to La revuelta or El hormiguero. Évole assured: “I belong to the Atresmedia group, a group to which I feel absolutely linked and to which I am delighted to belong and with which I have always worked with enormous freedom. So I should go to El hormiguero, a program I have been on for many years.” And he continued: “I would be delighted to go. I haven’t been for two years. Pablo doesn’t call me. It surprises me because we always had great chemistry whenever we saw each other on set, but it’s not happening. Everyone has the right to bring whoever they want to their program, starting with Pablo Motos.” This visit to La revuelta confirms that the tense relationship between Évole and Motos continues.

During his interview on La revuelta this Thursday, not only was the documentary Sidosa, directed and produced by Évole and involving Atresmedia, promoted, but also the interview that Lo de Évole will air this Sunday with the former Attorney General of the State, Álvaro García Ortiz, was mentioned.

Throughout the program, Évole suffered several signs of cataplexy attacks, the neurological disorder he has had for years characterized by sudden episodes of muscle tone loss, usually triggered by intense emotions. During one of them, Broncano joked about the situation: “It was a trap to bring him to TVE to kill him,” which caused the attack to last even longer.

At the end of the program, and after Évole left the stage, Jorge Ponce returned to fulfill a wish of the La Sexta host: to revive his old habit of appearing on stage after the guest leaves to criticize them behind their back. “He’s the first person with buffering. Have you seen when you try to watch a YouTube video in an elevator, and it stays like that and then starts again?” Ponce joked about the host’s disorder. “And do you know who might have Jordi’s disease? Ana Rosa Quintana, but since she hasn’t laughed since ’98…” he concluded, also taking a jab at Mediaset right at the end of the program.
