The arrests, the Mossos specify, occurred as a result of the investigation opened on April 3 following a confrontation between several people involving the use of firearms. At the scene inspection, the officers found up to 16 spent casings.
On May 5, an operation was carried out with four searches in homes in La Mina to arrest the alleged perpetrators and locate the weapons used. The officers found three firearms (two shotguns and one pistol), as well as projectiles, cartridges of various calibers, and bladed weapons during these searches.
“This operation has allowed closing the dynamic of violent escalation detected in this environment and significantly reducing the risk to the population,” the statement indicates.
The detainees are accused of crimes of assault against law enforcement officers, illegal possession of weapons, threats, and public disorder. They were brought before the court on May 7. The police emphasize that the investigation remains open and new actions are not ruled out.
