The Barcelona City Council will install a giant screen in the Glòries park to follow the Women’s Champions League final between Barça and Olympique Lyon, which will be held next Saturday the 23rd in Oslo. The council will enable the space from 18:00, the start time of the match, with the aim that fans can watch the European final live from Barcelona.

The final will once again face the two great dominators of European women’s football of the last decade. The blaugrana team will seek to win their fourth Champions and consolidate a historic era marked by the sporting and social growth of the team. Lyon, the most decorated club in the competition, appears again as Barça’s great rival in the continental tournament. It will be the fourth time both teams meet in the great European final.
The City Council’s Sports Councilor, David Escudé, has defended the installation of the screen as a show of institutional support for women’s sports and the social impact that the blaugrana team has acquired. “We will again have the live broadcast of this historic final in the Glòries park so that all Barcelonans who want to come can enjoy what we hope will be Barça’s fourth victory in this competition,” the councilor said in a statement released by the council.
Municipal sources highlight that the initiative is part of the strategy to “consolidate Barcelona as a reference city” for women’s sports internationally and to give visibility to women’s competitions, also in the field of football. The City Council already installed a screen last year in Glòries, coinciding with the women’s Champions final. In 2024 it was in Plaça de Catalunya; while the Vall d’Hebron Olympic Pavilion hosted the event to follow the women’s World Cup final played by the Spanish national team in Sydney.
