A 17-year-old migrant has died in the La Esperanza youth center, managed by the Government of Ceuta. Health sources confirm to EL PAÍS that the minor, who suffered from type I diabetes, died from severe hypoglycemia. The same sources specify that the news emerged this morning at the temporary reception center, since the call to 112 was made at 7:05. The Medical Emergency Unit arrived at 7:13.

Other sources consulted indicate that the boy was being attended to and treated during his stay at the youth center. The last check-up was on September 1, according to Health sources.
The young man was found lifeless by another companion at the temporary reception center located in the Hadú neighborhood, according to El Faro de Ceuta, which states that the body has already been removed from the facility.

To date, it is not known exactly how many unaccompanied minors remain in Ceuta since the massive entry on July 30 and 31. Figures between 1,600 and 1,400 are being considered. The data that has emerged this week from the Minor Protection Service is around 1,475, but more minors may be registered each day.
