Beatriz Luengo wins ‘Maestros de la costura Celebrity 2’ against her ‘Un paso adelante’ co-star

Maestros de la costura Celebrity 2 ended this Wednesday on La 1, crowning actress, composer, and singer Beatriz Luengo as the winner of this edition. After 10 episodes, the star of Un paso adelante beat her co-star from the classic Antena 3 series, actress Silvia Marty, who finished in second place.

A special ceremony with Pilar Rubio, winner of the previous edition, and Naty Abascal as guests closed this competition presented by Raquel Sánchez Silva. The program led its broadcast with a 9.4% average audience share and 521,000 viewers, although with lower than usual figures. A tribute to Valentino, the classic bridal challenge, and the elimination of Mario Vaquerizo and Pau Echániz, the other two finalists, closed the night.

Pau Echániz had been the favorite to win throughout the season, but he made an unforgivable mistake in the challenge. He took everything needed from the haberdashery to create his Valentino look, except the most important thing: the fabric. The judges reflected on this unusual fact and decided to make an exception. They allowed him to go back in to get it. But Pau took time to find his rhythm, worrying about the consequences that this oversight could have on the verdict. The nerves played a bad trick on the Olympic medalist.

Lorenzo Caprile, a jury member, confirmed that the fourth place was the athlete, while Vaquerizo finished third. And despite Luengo’s great work, the first jacket finally went to Marty. “You have done a great job. Relax. Seeing it up close, I am very happy. You understood the pattern very well and the zipper turned out very well, just like the applique. It is a dress that seemed easy but was not. Your evolution has been incredible,” highlighted another jury member, Luis de Javier.

To choose the second duelist, the program traveled to Hacienda Jacaranda, in Madrid, posing the challenge of making a wedding dress. And that is where Luengo qualified.

Beatriz Luengo’s proposal for this final duel consisted of a long black party dress, made with silk crepe and guipure, decorated with feathers, bows, and flowers, and finished with a side slit in the skirt. Silvia Marty, for her part, made an elegant and sensual dress, with a flowing silhouette, created in silk satin crepe, with chiffon godets in exactly the same shade. The design featured delicate thin chain straps, adorned with a pearl located right on the coccyx, a detail that represented her roots and family bond.

And the winner of Maestros de la costura Celebrity 2 was Beatriz Luengo. “The fabric is magnificently chosen for this silhouette. It is very well proportioned and the volume is balanced. The zipper is also very well resolved. Maybe you lacked a little time to better refine the slit,” highlighted Lorenzo Caprile.
