The wax Bad Bunny has already arrived in Madrid almost at the same time as the real one. In a hall of the Wax Museum of Madrid, accompanied by Justin Bieber, Marilyn Monroe, and Elvis Presley, and flanked by Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, the Puerto Rican singer occupies a stage from today, Thursday, in front of a microphone, with the music and decoration of his latest album, DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS. It took five months of artisanal work by a team of five people to replicate his image as closely as possible. “His face, expression, posture, and characteristic styling have been observed, with the aim of reflecting both his image and his energy on stage,” they explained during his presentation at the museum.

Mike Wade, the sculptor responsible for the figure, stated that one of the main challenges was capturing his characteristic pose, with the finger snap and his movement on stage. The fake Bad Bunny wears an open shirt, very much in the Caribbean style, to show the chest tattooed by professional Adrián Sánchez, and the hair and beard were made hair by hair and individually inserted into the wax. “The maintenance of such a piece must be constant: temperature and humidity control, manual cleaning with specific non-abrasive products, and continuous supervision to avoid any deterioration of the material, especially in implanted hair, makeup, and clothing,” explained Cristina Placeres, the communications director of the institution.
“With this addition, the Museum adds to its collection one of the most relevant international figures of the moment, bringing the public closer to references that go beyond music and are part of current global culture,” they highlighted. Placeres pointed out that, to add a new character, surveys are also conducted with visitors, either in person or online, so they can make their proposals. “With all that information, along with the analysis of the Museum team, the next additions are decided,” she noted. Priority is given to figures with influence in contemporary culture, national or international, representing fields such as entertainment, music, cinema, sports, or popular culture.
With this presentation, the Wax Museum joins the various tributes taking place in Madrid during the singer’s residency week in the city, which has the most dates on the entire DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS tour. There are 10 performances he will give between May 30 and June 15 at the Metropolitano Stadium.
