Cazzu makes the leap to cinema days before starting her ‘Latinaje Tour’ in the United States

Cazzu is just a few days away from taking the stage to begin the North American leg of her Latinaje Tour in the United States. Specifically, she will do so at The Chicago Theatre in Chicago, Illinois, on April 23. But before that, she has made the leap to the big screen: her first appearance in film, in Risa y la cabina del viento, an Argentine movie that will be available in that country starting April 16. The artist had always drawn attention for her ability to embody different characters and stories in her musical project, as seen in videos like Glock, Con Otra, or Dolce, but this is her first appearance in the big format.

Risa y la cabina del viento tells the moving story of a 10-year-old girl who, after losing her father in a tragic fire, discovers a phone booth that allows her to talk to people who have passed away. The film, directed by Juan Cabral, shot in Tierra del Fuego, stars Elena Romero (Risa), and Cazzu has a central role as her mother, Sara. “There is a lot of Sara that lives in Julieta (Cazzu’s real name) and vice versa,” Cazzu explained at the film’s premiere on April 14.

The cast also includes key names from Argentine cinema such as Diego Peretti and Joaquín Furriel. Additionally, the film features music by Babasónicos.

Risa y la cabina del viento has already been awarded Best Film and Best Director at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival. For now, the film can be seen in cinemas in Argentina, but it will premiere on Netflix worldwide during May.

Cazzu’s Tour in the United States

Cazzu released Latinaje on April 24, 2025; her most complex album to date, which explores and fuses different Latin music genres such as tango, cumbia, bachata, and even corridos tumbados. It is a declaration of love to her roots and an explicit expression of her introspective search as an artist.

Before releasing this studio work, Cazzu had stood out in the urban scene as one of the pioneers in Spanish-speaking trap, a key part of a generation where other names like Nicki Nicole, Duki, or Khea shine.

With an artistic blossoming and evolution closely linked to her personal experience, Cazzu will tour the United States during parts of April, May, and June. Initially, only 7 dates were announced, but they have been expanded to 17 shows. Cazzu’s Latinaje Tour will begin on April 23 in Chicago and end on June 14 in El Paso, TX. Tickets can be purchased through the artist’s official website.

After the United States, the singer will also visit other parts of Latin America between August and October, and then travel to Spain in November.
