Alberto Núñez Feijóo continued this Wednesday in Andalusia with his electoral caravan parallel to that of Juan Manuel Moreno. The leader of the PP and the president of the Junta will barely coincide together in a couple of events in order to “comb” as much territory as possible of the extensive community with separate rallies, according to the strategy outlined by the Popular Party. On his own journey, Feijóo traveled this afternoon to Guadix (Granada), a municipality of about 19,000 inhabitants. There, in the Plaza de la Constitución, the leader of the opposition launched an attack against the PSOE candidate and former first vice president, María Jesús Montero, whom he called a “prophet of Sanchism,” focusing during his speech on the national message and against the president of the Government. And without mentioning Vox either directly or indirectly, beyond appealing to that “majority of stability” —a euphemism for absolute— that avoids the “mess” of having to make a pact with another party after the May 17 elections.
“It cannot be that they send to Andalusia the Minister of Finance of all the scams in Spain,” proclaimed the leader of the PP. “That is why she must be sent back to Madrid. Andalusia has said enough to all the scams of the Socialist Party,” added Feijóo. By “scams,” Feijóo specifically referred to a report from Abc this Wednesday. The text states that the Court of Auditors has revealed that the Government diverted 2.389 billion euros of European funds to pay pensions. “Stability is in the Budget, it is not losing a single euro or a single minute. We need Andalusia not to stop, not to get stuck in what is underway,” he added, contrasting the lack of a Budget from La Moncloa throughout the legislature with Moreno’s “management” supported by his absolute majority.
“The worst government in the democracy of Spain has sent its first vice presidency to Andalusia. They do not come to solve a problem, they come to import problems,” Feijóo continued. “They do not come to talk about Andalusia, they come to protect the president of the Government, from whom we want to turn the page. Andalusia does not need more Sanchism. Corruption is not only having a criminal organization at the head of the Ministry of Transport with Sánchez’s men, corruption is lying, covering up… It is believing oneself to be unpunishable,” he added.
In the province of Granada, the PP believes they can gain one more seat compared to the 2022 elections, when they obtained six of the 58 regional deputies of their absolute majority. “Close ranks and Juanma alongside Feijóo covering the entire province,” party sources indicate about the Granada constituency. With that premise, Moreno traveled this Tuesday to both Granada municipalities on the Tropical Coast and the capital —where the PP has governed with an absolute majority since 2023—, where the president of the Junta held a large rally in the University Square. A day later, Feijóo moved to the northeast area of the province, where he visited several towns, until appearing this afternoon from Guadix.
“We have to turn involvement into effort until the last moment of the campaign,” Feijóo asked his supporters. “I want the political climate of Andalusia to spread to all of Spain and not the other way around, because Spain suffers from too much lying, walls, incompetence, and corruption. These are not general elections now, but it’s getting closer. And if on May 17 we have a majority of stability, those who have not yet trembled will start to shake,” he concluded. “They say they come here to clean, to clean what? If you want to clean Andalusia, continue with Juanma Moreno, who has thoroughly cleaned it,” Feijóo asserted.

Europe Day in Ceuta
Feijóo will continue the caravan this Thursday in El Puerto de Santamaría (Cádiz). And he will suspend electoral events to travel on Saturday to Ceuta, where the PP has decided to celebrate Europe Day, marking 40 years since the creation of the European Union. The Popular Party has chosen the autonomous city instead of an Andalusian capital —something debated behind closed doors, as the timing coincides with the Andalusian election race—. But it will finally take place in Ceuta just after an attached report from the influential Appropriations Committee (funding control) of the United States House of Representatives, whose publication was anticipated by El Confidencial, places Ceuta and Melilla “in Moroccan territory” and “under Spanish administration,” while encouraging Secretary of State Marco Rubio to mediate on the future status of both autonomous cities.
“Both Ceuta and Melilla are an integral part of our nation, our integrity, and our sovereignty,” stated the PP’s Deputy Secretary of Autonomic Policy and Electoral Analysis, Elías Bendodo, at a press conference at the party headquarters on Génova Street on Monday, although he avoided directly referring to the U.S. House document. “The two cities are Spanish borders and European borders, they are Spain and they are Europe; and they represent the policies of tolerance that must exist in our country where, as you know, cultures and religions coexist in harmony and respect,” Bendodo added. And he pointed out that “their protection is neither optional nor negotiable and that implies two obligations.” On one hand, “to strengthen the presence of State institutions both in Ceuta and Melilla.” And on the other, “to strengthen the presence of both Ceuta and Melilla in the European Union.”
The PP defends the need for both cities to have “a European statute comparable to that of the outermost regions to improve their funding.” And also their recognition of Ceuta and Melilla as “priority” territories to improve access to cohesion funds. The celebration of Europe Day in the autonomous city of Ceuta also coincides with the controversy introduced by Vox with its demands around “national priority,” which the PP has adopted as its own.
