How we chose and tested the products
Since I had my first child 5 years ago, I have tested many devices aimed at child mobility, including lightweight strollers. For this comparison, I exclusively selected duo strollers that include a certified carrycot for newborns and a reversible seat for later use.
For the tests, I tried to reproduce as realistic use as possible: daily walks in urban environments, folding and unfolding tests, going up and down curbs, transport in elevators and medium-sized trunks, as well as frequent changes between carrycot and seat to evaluate the ease of the anchoring system, chassis stability, and ease of handling with one hand.
After weeks of testing, the essential aspects I was able to evaluate are, therefore:

- Quality and certification of the carrycot: as it is the main space for the baby during the first months, the carrycot must be spacious, breathable, with a rigid base and certification for newborns. Ventilation and the mattress are also key elements for comfort.
- Suspension and type of wheels: suspension determines the absorption of impacts on uneven sidewalks, cobblestones, or paths. Thus, large or all-terrain wheels offer greater stability, while more compact ones prioritize lightness and urban use.
- Ergonomics and comfort of use: aspects such as adjustable handlebar height, access to the lower basket, real reclining of the seat, and the possibility of carrying it facing forward or backward make a difference in prolonged use.
- Durability and quality of materials: washable textiles, robust structures, and finishes resistant to intensive use guarantee a longer lifespan, especially in strollers designed to accompany the baby for several years.
- Dimensions and compatibility with the environment: it is advisable to check the width of the stroller, its maneuverability in narrow spaces, and its compatibility with elevators, standard doors, and trunks, something especially relevant in urban homes.

With its large wheels and suspension on all four wheels, bumps are much less noticeable than I expected, and the stroller continues to move smoothly. It is the best in the comparison in this aspect.
The experience with the carrycot has also been one of the best in the comparison. This accessory is quite spacious, and the PureBreeze mattress has a double side and breathable materials that help regulate the baby’s temperature. Also, the canopy is extendable and has UPF 50+ sun protection; during the test days, I did not need it as it was very cloudy, but it will be very useful when the heat arrives. The seat, on the other hand, is reversible — it can face the parents or forward — and has three reclining positions. Also, both the footrest and the canopy can be extended up to 10 cm to adapt to the child’s growth, and the whole process is very intuitive and smooth. Everything works perfectly in this stroller. In fact, I tried carrying my older son during an all-day excursion in which he still gets tired, and even with him on it (he weighs 21 kg), you can handle it with one hand. The lower basket was also very useful, with a capacity of about 10 kg, and the handlebar is extendable: when I have the scooter installed so my older son can get on when he gets tired, I can extend it to walk comfortably without hitting him with my feet (with other strollers, I have to go with one hand and stand to one side), and it can even be raised to stand between the seat and the handlebar.
Its weak points: although it can be folded with one hand and in one piece, the result is still quite bulky and takes up a good part of my trunk (quite spacious). Also, the seat has a very fixed shape, and during naps, the girl is not completely stretched out.

2) Ultra compact: Stokke YOYO³
Who is it for: families who travel and move a lot, and who will mainly use it in urban environments.
Why we recommend it: if there is one word that defines the experience of using the YOYO³, it is compact. It is not just a small stroller; it is one of those products clearly designed for those who live in cities, use public transport, or have little space at home, like me. My test started with the carrycot, and I was struck by how light the whole set is, even with this accessory installed (it weighs around 3 kg, and the complete stroller with chassis weighs about 8 kg). It has integrated carrying handles, allowing you to remove it from the chassis and carry it directly in your hand; something useful, for example, to enter the house with the baby asleep. I also liked the double breathable mattress of 4.5 cm, which makes the interior quite cozy, and the ventilated canopy with UPF 50+ sun protection. Another detail: the carrycot is positioned about 52 cm above the ground, a height slightly higher than the brand’s own newborn pack, which makes the baby a little closer to the adult.
When I switched to the seat configuration, the YOYO³ began to show its true potential. The main reason is its ultra-compact folding: The first time I tried it was entering a small metro elevator: I folded the stroller in seconds and carried it over my shoulder with its strap, like a large bag. Another positive point is maneuverability: the wheels have suspension on all four wheels with elastomer technology and Soft Drive system, which smooths the ride even on uneven sidewalks. In my neighborhood, there are many raised tiles and curbs, and while with other lightweight strollers the rattling is very noticeable, here the suspension helps soften it a lot.
Its lower basket has a capacity of up to 10 kg, and I usually fit toys, shopping bags… and it fit perfectly. I also find the window in the canopy useful, which allows you to look at the baby without stopping.
Its weak points: the wheels are small, and for example, to enter parks with dirt or grass paths, it gets quite stuck. I would also have liked the carrycot to fold with the chassis.

Why we recommend it: when I tried this stroller for the first time, I felt it was quite different from what I had tried so far. Not so much because of the design — which follows the elegant and robust line typical of the brand — but because of its technological approach: an electric assistance system designed to help you when pushing the stroller, especially on hills or when heavily loaded. And after several weeks of use, I can say it is one of those functions that, once you try it, it is hard to go back. My daughter does not weigh much, but if I carry her along with some shopping bags and my 5-year-old son riding the scooter I usually place on the stroller, climbing hills is an effort. Thanks to this stroller, it has been like going on flat ground. The battery is placed at the bottom, near the basket, and from the handlebar, you can activate the assistance with a small lever. The system has several levels of help, and in my experience, the medium level is the most useful; the maximum is so powerful that on flat ground it even forced me to walk faster than usual to keep up.
The initial assembly took me a bit longer than expected. It is not especially complicated, but the manual does not help much, and I had to resort to some online videos to clarify certain steps. Once achieved, the carrycot seemed spacious and comfortable. The wheels are large, and the suspension helps absorb bumps and curbs. Something I liked a lot is how easy it is to change configurations, simply by pressing two buttons: this model allows more than twenty different combinations between carrycot, stroller seat, and additional basket, something designed for families who may have more than one child or need to adapt the stroller according to the moment. In the seat format, the backrest reclines to an almost horizontal position, allowing my daughter to sleep during the walk without problems.
Let’s talk about two more details. The harness tightens by pulling a single strap instead of having to adjust each side separately. And it has an automatic rocking mode that makes the stroller move gently back and forth to help the baby sleep: at the lowest speed, it works acceptably, but at higher levels, the movement can be somewhat abrupt.
Its weak points: with a little over 14 kg, it is heavier than many traditional strollers, something logical considering the motor and battery.
This is especially noticeable when putting it in the car trunk or carrying it up stairs. And the folding is not the most intuitive either, because you have to press several buttons.

Why we recommend it: it is a very practical stroller, and one of the details that has been most useful to me in daily use during the tests is its closing system, which allows folding it with a single gesture from the backrest. In practice, this means you press the mechanism, and the stroller folds by itself, also standing upright once closed. You don’t need to let go of the baby to do it because you can hold them perfectly with the other hand. Also, once folded, it takes up relatively little space and has a handle for carrying it, which has helped me, for example, to put it in the trunk or carry it up stairs.
The driving is generally very comfortable in urban environments with cobblestones and low curbs, and the sensation is that vibration is less than in lighter models, and I could continue driving it with one hand without it veering to the sides.
The set I tested includes the Flexi carrycot, which can be folded when not in use, making it much easier not only to store at home but also to put it in the trunk and have space for other things. Regarding comfort, the interior uses fabrics with natural bamboo fibers and has ventilation through mesh openings. It also includes a removable windproof flap that protects better in winter. I also liked that the carrycot attaches to the chassis without adapters and releases with memory buttons, which greatly simplifies the change between carrycot and seat.
The stroller seat, on the other hand, is reversible — so the baby can face forward or towards you — and the backrest can recline fully in both orientations, with four different positions that adjust with one hand. It was very useful during naps, and the seat is quite padded and spacious. It incorporates a magnetic buckle for the harness, a small but practical detail because it allowed me to fasten it quickly when the girl was restless and refused to sit.
Its weak points: I would have liked the folding to be just as simple with the carrycot mounted: if you use the carrycot, you need to remove it before folding the chassis, which breaks the flow of the OneTouch system a bit.

Why we recommend it: it is one of those strollers you see a lot on the street, and I especially liked how light it feels, so going up curbs or turning with one hand has been quite easy. In my case, I often hold my older son’s hand, so this feature is very practical for me. When we enter an unpaved area (in a park or on a path) or even if the sidewalks are in poor condition, I always lock the front wheels, which greatly increases stability.
Placing the carrycot on the chassis is very easy, and to attach and detach it, I did not have to struggle with hidden buttons or adapters. Once you switch to the stroller seat configuration, the Muum 5 gains a lot of versatility: the seat is reversible, so you can have the baby facing you or outward. The backrest has three reclining positions, from about 105° to 165°; it does not recline completely, although my daughter did not seem to mind and slept just the same.
One of the most curious elements is the magnetic harness that makes the closure approach and fix quite easily instead of having to manually fit several pieces. And the basket is very large, and I have been able to carry everything: the diaper bag, toys, some shopping… Also, it is one of the few with an extendable handlebar.
Its weak points: folding is somewhat more complex than in other models (no one-handed use) and it is not as compact.
