PP pressure complicates the transfer of 500 immigrant girls from Ceuta to the Peninsula
The Ministry of Youth and Childhood is seeking ways to alleviate the collapse of reception systems in Ceuta, but the PP’s political stance blocks the first solutions. Two weeks ago, the department led by Sira Rego publicly put on the table the option of immediately transferring about 500 girls to the Peninsula, where they would be distributed in centers with capacity for between 20 and 30 minors through an agreement signed with private entities. The Ministry focuses on Ceuta’s refusal to carry out the procedure, while official sources from the autonomous city now claim they have no “written” evidence of the existence of those places in non-profit organizations, and point out that it is not usual for these to be available outside the framework agreements of each community.

Ceuta causes another clash between the Judiciary and the Executive over the reservation of a police report
The General Commissioner of Immigration and Borders of the Police, Julián Ávila, explained in detail this week to his superiors how the magistrate of the National Court, María Tardón, had asked them to remain silent about the police report they were preparing regarding the passage of about 70,000 migrants to Ceuta on July 30 and 31. In a document sent to the police leadership, he stated that the judge had requested “maximum confidentiality” from members of her team through a phone call, ten days after the assignment. This fact has once again caused a major clash between the Government and the Judiciary.
