The stifling heat keeps seven communities on alert

Seven communities in the southern and eastern half of the peninsula — Andalusia, Aragon, Balearic Islands, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Valencian Community, and Region of Murcia — remain on alert for high temperatures, with special impact in Andalusia and Murcia, at orange level due to highs of up to 42 degrees.

In Andalusia, there is an orange alert (significant danger) in Málaga, where thermometers will reach 39 degrees in parts of Sol and Guadalhorce. In the rest of the Andalusian provinces, the alert is yellow (low danger) with values ranging between 37 and 39 degrees. The Region of Murcia, also on orange alert, will reach between 39 and 42 degrees in areas of the Vega del Segura, the Guadalentín valley, Campo de Cartagena, Mazarrón, Lorca, and Águilas.

In the communities of Aragon, Balearic Islands, and Catalonia, as well as in the province of Albacete in Castilla-La Mancha, and in Alicante and Valencia in the Valencian Community, a yellow alert has been activated for values ranging between 34 and 39 degrees.
