A 58-year-old man has been seriously injured after being gored by a bull during the last running of the bulls at the Navalcarnero festivities, which began on September 9. According to a spokesperson from Emergencies Comunidad de Madrid 112, the man had an open wound on the left hemithorax and was operated on urgently in the bullring itself. Afterwards, he was transported by helicopter to La Paz hospital, where he was admitted.

The man was perched on the barrier with his body facing inside the route when he slipped just as the bull passed by him, as can be seen in a video released by Telemadrid. The bull, which was moving at high speed, charged at him, goring him in the left side. The man was left lying on the ground, where he received first aid.
According to 112, the alert about the incident arrived around 13:48 and a Summa 112 helicopter was dispatched to the area. When the paramedics arrived, the man was already being operated on in the bullring’s operating room. He had a goring wound on the left hemithorax and, once stabilized, he was intubated and transported by helicopter to La Paz hospital in Madrid.
The town of Navalcarnero closes its festivities this Sunday with the fifth of its bull runs, declared this year by the very bullfighting-loving Community of Madrid as a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest for its more than four centuries of history.

Held as part of the Patron Saint Festivities in honor of Our Lady the Virgin of the Conception, the bull runs have a particularity in that most of them take place at night, starting from one in the morning, one of the reasons for this distinction.
Navalcarnero held the first bull run of these 2026 festivities at 1:00 a.m. from Tuesday to Wednesday, a bullfighting program that concluded this Sunday at 12:30 p.m. with the fifth run, corresponding to the cattle from the recortes contest. According to the Community, these events gather more than 20,000 people each year including runners, groups, young men, and spectators.
