Madrid native Rafa Jódar lost the final of the Washington Masters 500 this Monday against American Taylor Fritz (7-6 (2), 6-4). The match, which was supposed to be played yesterday, had to be suspended due to rain. In the first set, the Spaniard succumbed in the tie break, and the second, which started very badly with a 3-0, was fought by Jódar. The tennis player’s fighting spirit was not, however, enough. Fritz confirmed his dominance with another display of solid returning, although he did need five match points to defeat Jódar.
