The home push eventually paid off and Real managed to level the score against a Betis that lost firmness as the minutes passed. The final stretch then became an exchange of blows and chances. In the 92nd minute, Carrera had the 3-2 with a powerful header, but Álvaro Valles appeared with an extraordinary intervention, correcting in time to save his team.
There was still time for one last chance. Mikel Oyarzabal took a shot from inside the area, although the ball went just wide when Anoeta was already preparing to celebrate the complete comeback.
The draw left better feelings for Real than for Betis. The Donostiarras remain without a win since the cup success, but they also showed that they maintain pride, offensive capacity, and arguments to compete.
