‘Saber y ganar’ releases an unprecedented statement asking for respect for its contestants: “We cannot allow it”

The oldest contest on Spanish television, and one of the cleanest programs on the schedule, Saber y ganar, has stood up against the attacks its contestants suffer on social media. It has done so with a statement published on X where they remind “the rules of coexistence”: “At Saber y ganar we tolerate all opinions and comments except disrespect,” reads the heading.

“Although it should be obvious, we remind you that all kinds of opinions are allowed, but not insults and disrespect,” the statement says. “At Saber y ganar we support culture, entertainment, and education. That is why we cannot allow aggressive messages and personal attacks. Anyone who does not respect this way of acting will be blocked from the account,” the text continues.

📣 Important to remember the importance of the rules of coexistence. At #SaberyGanar we tolerate all opinions and comments except disrespect.

Although the statement, sent on Monday afternoon, does not directly refer to any contestant, it comes at a time when the insults and slanders received on social media by the current champion of the program, Martín Escolar, have intensified. The science communicator, very active on social media, accumulates not only victories but also comments against him that even point to an alleged favoritism by the program to facilitate his stay and showcase. Other viewers defend that his challenges have the same level of difficulty as the rest.
