With just over 15 kilometers left to the end of stage 3 of La Vuelta a España, the cyclists were forced to stop due to the tremendous hailstorm that began to fall on the ascent of Font Romeu. Pogacar, who was leading the peloton with his UAE team mates behind the breakaways, made gestures with his right arm to stop the march as they climbed the last pass. The peloton began to take shelter wherever they could to avoid the storm and the judges decided to end the day and cancel the stage. The times of the third stage will not count for the general classification and Pogacar will continue to wear the red jersey for Tuesday’s stage in Andorra.
