This Sunday she was able to approach the headquarters that Adelante Andalucía has established in La Yerbabuena, in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz). Wearing a green kufiya as a turban, Rodríguez arrived smiling at the meeting prior to the appearance.

After voting, she posted an image on her X profile, where she was asked by an anonymous profile: “What are you dressed as?”. Rodríguez, who was wearing a headscarf, replied:

In this way, Rodríguez revealed that she has cancer and is being treated with chemotherapy for the disease, which subsequently generated messages of encouragement and support from other X users. The spokesperson for the PP, Borja Sémper, who has just returned to political life after being out of the front line for ten months due to cancer, also reacted on his X account. “Only affection and my best wishes come out for Teresa Rodríguez and her family,” he wrote.

In June 2022, Rodríguez was a candidate to preside over the Andalusian Government for Adelante Andalucía, a formation that obtained two seats in the regional Chamber. In December of the same year, she left her seat in the Andalusian Parliament and returned to her position at a secondary school in Puerto Real (Cádiz), although she remains linked to Adelante Andalucía as co-spokesperson. With 98% counted, Adelante Andalucía would obtain 8 seats, six more than in 2022.
