Junts deputy in the Parliament Isaac Padrós has filed a complaint with the Girona Provincial Prosecutor’s Office against a National Police officer for having treated him with a “hostile, humiliating and discriminatory treatment” during the renewal of his daughter’s DNI.

The complaint, filed by Padrós and his wife and accessed by Efe, argues that this and other officers from the La Jonquera police station may have committed the following crimes: against the exercise of civic rights; discriminatory denial of a service committed by a public official; against moral integrity committed by a public official; falsification of an official document and, subsidiarily, coercion.
According to Padrós’s account of the events, he and his family spoke in Catalan at all times and, after refusing to change language to communicate with the officers, they asked for the documentation “without any legal cause” and took the DNI “by force.” Immediately after, the officers “issued a false report-complaint as retaliation for having announced that complaints and a report would be filed,” he stated.
Padrós recalls in his complaint that he is blind, which makes it difficult for him to quickly obtain the DNI or prevents him from reading instructions.
