The partner of one of the leaders of the criminal group Los Cuinis pleaded guilty this Tuesday to paying for her son’s tuition at an educational center in Bradenton, Florida, with drug money, “despite being prohibited from conducting transactions within the United States financial system.” Wendy Dalaithy Amaral Arévalo, 45, is the ex-wife and partner of Gerardo González Valencia, one of the heads of the organization linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) who was sentenced to life imprisonment on July 21, 2023, for drug trafficking. The U.S. government states that Amaral Arévalo signed contracts with the sports training center IMG Academy for her son to study there and arranged the payment for tuition fees.
