The Tax Agency has informed the judge of the National Court investigating the Koldo case that the alleged facilitator of the plot, Víctor de Aldama, could add a new crime to the list: tax fraud for the profits he obtained from his intermediation to endorse masks to the Ministry of Transport and other public administrations. The Treasury calculates that in 2020 he defrauded 2.4 million euros in personal income tax, of which it explains that only 1.6 million euros are “enforceable”, after subtracting the amounts already paid for Corporate Tax by two of his companies.

Similarly, the tax authorities warn judge Ismael Moreno that the company that sold the sanitary material, Soluciones de Gestión, would also have incurred in this crime by defrauding 200,000 euros in Corporate Tax in 2020. In the case of the company, the Treasury indicates that the main beneficiary of these alleged fiscal maneuvers would be Juan Carlos Cueto, whom it identifies as the true owner of the company.
The report, to which EL PAÍS has had access, is known precisely on the day that Cueto is summoned to testify as a witness in the trial being held in the Supreme Court against the former Minister of Transport José Luis Ábalos, his former advisor Koldo García and Aldama for allegedly awarding mask purchase contracts to Soluciones de Gestión in exchange for kickbacks.
