91% of non-university public education teachers in Valencia out of the 30,014 teachers who voted in the consultation launched by three unions on the proposal of the Conselleria of Education have rejected the offer, and 80% have expressed support for maintaining the indefinite teachers’ strike that began last May 11.
This is evident from the consultation that the unions of the STEPV, CC OO and UGT Negotiation Table, with the support of the Coordinadora d’Assemblees Docents del País Valencià (CADPV) CNT, CGT, COS, CSO and Docents en Lluita, launched yesterday at noon among the teachers and which ended at two in the afternoon this Saturday.
The agreement that was voted on is the penultimate document from the Conselleria, since the consultation was launched on Friday morning and Education sent its latest proposal with changes in certain sections of the demands already by the afternoon.
This last offer, on which they will meet again tomorrow Sunday, has not yet been able to be consulted with the teachers, according to STEPV.
30,014 teachers (out of about 78,000 in the Community) responded to the survey, and of all the demands, the only point that gains support for signing by the three unions is the one related to bureaucracy, with 69% affirmative votes.
Regarding the specific points of the negotiation, 94% voted against the remuneration agreement signed by CSIF and ANPE with the Conselleria – which establishes a salary increase of 200 euros gross monthly in the specific autonomous complement progressively until 2028 and is the offer maintained by Education – and 89% disagree that STEPV, CCOO and UGT join it.

In favor of bureaucracy but against ratios
69%, however, agree that the unions join the proposal to reduce bureaucracy and 94% oppose the unions joining the agreement on ratios.
89% voted against supporting the proposals regarding staff, which it contemplates, and in infrastructure, 78% oppose supporting the agreement; 84% do not support the educational inclusion proposal; 83% do not back the proposal on Vocational Training and 85% said “no” to the proposal related to Valencian.
The survey also asked how they thought future mobilizations should be organized. In this regard, 54% showed support for maintaining the indefinite strike with occasional mobilizations; 26% to continue the strike in the current format; and 20% to call off the strike but continue with other types of mobilizations. The option to call off the strike and not continue with mobilizations did not receive support from any of the voters.
Of the more than 30,000 teachers who responded to the consultation, 39% are from Secondary or Baccalaureate; 31% from Primary; 13% from Vocational Training; 11% from Early Childhood; 2% from Special Education Centers; 1% from Official Language Schools (EOI); another 1% from Artistic and Sports Education and another 1% from Adult Education.
